It doesn't matter whether users attempt to send SMS text messages or use data services to connect to the Internet on their mobile device, if the phone is turned on, this device will let you know.
This model is designed and built for detecting services in the US and Canada, and thus detects GSM (880-915 MHz), CDMA (824-849 MHz), WCDMA (1920-1980 MHz), and DCS (1710-1785 MHz) and is not effected by local cell phone towers. Thus unit it small, portable, and operates in either a silent/vibration mode or via the included earphone.
